We are excited to step in as co-leaders of the Westside Family Association (WFA). For those of you coming from other schools or who are not familiar with independent schools, know that you are automatically a member of our association. We are two lower school parents (2nd and 3rd grade) who met through the WFA working on DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism). We soon realized we had common excitement around building community, family engagement, and working together to make the world a better place for our children to grow up in. Co-chairing was the natural next step for us to model collaboration and share the time commitment the role of President of the WFA requires.
As we continue crafting a vision for what the WFA wants to be in a post-Covid world, our intention is to be aligned with the school's strategic planning and vision, while keeping a pulse on the continuously evolving needs and wants of our families. As we work together, we come to you with a growth mindset in hope of setting up systems and practices that connect us to one another, to the school, and to our children's futures.
