Family involvement contributes to the richness of our community and directly impacts your student’s experience at Westside. Research clearly shows a positive partnership between the home and the school has a powerful influence on a child’s achievement and sense of belonging at school.
We could not do what we do without the unwavering support of our families. Volunteering is a great way to get to know other Westside School families, teachers and staff, and have fun.
Westside Parent Organization (WPO) opportunities are communicated at the beginning of school year as well as throughout the year as events come up. There are opportunities for ongoing roles that last all year, as well as short one-time only needs.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer for Pizza Day -- and have lunch with your student!
Quiz Night is a casual, friendly competition, with teams of parents and staff answering trivia questions which will be recorded on answer sheets. There will be the traditional chili dinner available and guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages. Wine and beer are permitted, as no children will be on the premises! Admission price of $10 per person will cover dinner, and any extra proceeds will go toward the WPO for funding of assemblies, family dance, field day, and more!
Weekly Library Help : Westside's Librarian, Kristin Otto, is always looking for parent volunteers to help in the library during the school year. Work involves shelving books, straightening shelves, and other easy library projects. If interested, contact Kristin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
