The Westside School Fund

The Difference Between Outstanding & Excellent

Invest in the Promise of Every Student

The Westside School Fund. It’s the new name for our school’s annual fund. More than just a name, it  clearly articulates what the annual fund supports – Westside School. Stellar academics. Talented teachers.  Our campus. Technology. Our vital Tuition Assistance Fund. And much more.

The ambitions for our students and our program exceed the resources provided by tuition revenue. As a nonprofit, Westside depends on fundraising to supplement tuition income. In almost every area of the school, our teachers and staff have compelling hopes and dreams for further enhancing Westside School. We can’t do it without The Westside School Fund.

The Westside School Fund enables us to provide the rich educational experiences to which all of us in the school community are deeply committed.

Make no mistake, our program is outstanding. Donations to The Westside School Fund make us a stronger community and enable us to keep tuition accessible and affordable.  Your generous support provides the means for us to pursue a constant path of enhancement.

You gifts to The Westside School Fund are the difference between outstanding and excellent.

The Westside School Fund Goals

  • 100% participation from families, teachers, staff and our Board of Trustees. Participation, at a level that is personally meaningful to you, matters. It inspires a culture of philanthropy among our students. It sends a message to our teachers that we’re committed to the outstanding education that they deliver every school day.
  • Exceed last year’s giving by at least 25%.  That’s a lot. We know that the economy is still recovering and the choice of an independent school is a significant investment for any family.

Our goals are ambitious and achievable if everyone – parents/guardians,trustees, faculty and staff give and make a increase their gift over last year’s donation.  Every dollar counts

Giving Made Easy

The Westside School Fund campaign runs from October 19th to December 31st, 2012. There are a number of options to make giving easy:

·         Make a one-time donation by check or credit card

·         Make a pledge, and by installment over the school year, via check or credit card

·         Make a pledge and pay the balance on a future date

·         Make a one-time or installment donation online

Unlike tuition, donations to The Westside School Fund are tax deductable. Please pay all pledges before the end of our fiscal year: June 30, 2013.

Making Your Donation Go Farther

Give More & Get More! To inspire and encourage the school community, a group of Friends of Westside have come together to create a challenge grant. Increases over last year’s annual fund gifts will be matched dollar for dollar. If you gave $250 last year, and increased your gift by $100, the $100 will be matched, increasing your gift to $350! Our school benefits from every increase, no matter the size!

New to Westside School? Perhaps you have settled on a donation amount. Consider increasing that donation.

Take advantage of your employer’s matching program. Many employers (even non-profits!) generously match financial donations to non-profit501(c)3 organizations, including schools. Westside School is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and is eligible for employee matching funds. Check with your employer to see if they’ll match your financial or volunteer donations.

Make a multi-year pledge. Join our Sustainers, who’ve made a multi-year pledge to The Westside School Fund. A multi-year pledge shows long term commitment to Westside and our program and enables the school to plan financially for future years.

Want to give more, but can only do so much right now? Gifts can be paid over time or scheduled for a later date, such as monthly, quarterly, next February, some now and some later. Note your needs on your pledge card and the Communication & Development office will follow-up with an acknowledgment letter outlining your payment schedule.
