The Westside School Fund
Annual giving plays a vital role in the health and growth of Westside School’s program and our students. Through the generous support and involvement of every member of our school community, funds generated are used to sustain the school’s commitment to providing each student with the highest quality education possible while keeping tuition affordable.
To bridge the gap between tuition and the cost of educating each student, Westside conducts two coordinated fundraising efforts each year, the Westside School Fund in October, and the Annual Spirit Auction in March.
Westside School Fund
The Westside School Fund is our annual fundraising appeal. Through the generous support of every member of Westside School’s community of heroes, funds generated are used to uphold high academic standards, promote confident learners and maintain a strong and caring Westside School community.
Each year we strive for 100% family participation in order to support core elements of Westside School’s program, including:
· The Tuition Assistance Program
· Faculty salaries
· Professional development
· Technology and innovation
Fundraising for the Westside School Fund happens in October each year. All pledges are due by October 31 and payments can be made until the end of the school year.
Who gives to Westside School?
Current families, faculty, staff, the Board of Trustees, grandparents, friends and alumni. We rely on the entire Westside School community to make financial contributions to the Annual Fund.
Why can't Westside School increase tuition to cover the cost of educating each student?
Large increases in tuition may prohibit the opportunity of a Westside School education to many families. Through tax-deductible donations to the Westside School Fund, we can keep tuition costs more affordable, participate in the Rainier Scholars program, and provide financial aid and scholarships to qualified students.
How much am I expected to give?
We hope our families consider Westside School a philanthropic priority and give at a level that is meaningful to them. We recognize that tuition is a significant investment and every family’s capacity is different. Gifts of ALL sizes help Westside School reach its financial and participation goals.
If I can only give a small gift, does it really make an impact on Westside School?
Yes! Your gift, combined with those from alumni, families, and friends, provides substantial support for the ongoing operations of our school. Regardless of the level of the gift, it is an expression of your support. Every gift counts and contributes to the important culture of philanthropy at Westside School. In addition, before outside funding sources such as foundations will consider donating their dollars to Westside School, they want to know that Westside School families, faculty, board members, and staff are supporters as well. After all, if the people who directly benefit are not willing to support the school, why would outsiders want to do so?
Will I receive a tax benefit from my donation?
Absolutely!Westside School is a 501(c)(3), EIN 91-1151493. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible.
