Westside School Mid-winter break
Teachers celebrate each student’s special talents and abilities while challenging each student to take intellectual risks throughout their Lower School years.
Our teachers work more as facilitators, versus talking at students. They emphasize process – how one arrives at the answer, not just the answer. Our teachers create learning opportunities – thought provoking problems and projects designed for students to learn by inquiry and discovery.
Throughout their time at Westside, our students learn by doing. By the end of their Lower School experience, they have become proficient public speakers and presenters, they’ll be able to explain their thinking to their classmates, and they’ll be collaborative partners and empathetic friends.
