Frequently Asked Questions

What age do we take preschoolers?
Children must be 3 years old by August 31 of the school year they plan on attending.

What is the tuition?
Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $9500 for Kindergarten - 5th grade. Full-day preschool is $8500 and half-day preschool is $5700.

Can I visit the school?

Where do our fifth grade graduates go?
Our graduates go to a variety of PNAIS accredited private middle schools and public school honors programs.

Do we have foreign languages?
We have a Spanish program for all classes, PS through 5th grade, and a Mandarin Chinese program for K-5th.

What about other enrichment classes?
All children have enrichment classes with professionals in art, P.E., library and music, in addition to the foreign languages.

Do students receive letter grades?
Westside School does not evaluate students with letter grades. Parents receive a Progress Report in October, another in February and a final report in June.

Do we have childcare?

Do children have to be toilet trained?
Yes

If we attend Westside for Pre-kindergarten, do we automatically get into Kindergarten?
Yes.

Do we have a lunch program?
Westside works with a catering service to offer a hot lunch program.

Do we have transportation?
Westside does not provide transportation to the school. Parents are provided with a roster to arrange car pooling and other transportation needs.

Are there extra fees for supplies/field trips etc.
Tuition covers most of the supplies and field trips that the students take.
