About Westside School
Westside School is a private, independent elementary school in West Seattle. Accredited by the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools, or PNAIS, Westside is a close-knit community that values high-academic standards and challenges students on an individual basis. We value small class size, with a student/teacher ratio of 1:10 in grades PS-2nd. In our upper elementary classroom, we continue to be committed to small class size while encouraging the independence of our students, so the ratio may be slightly higher.
At Westside, teachers integrate the curriculum, presenting opportunities for basic skills to be taught together in a thematic unit. This makes learning fun and our students enjoy discovering new ideas, concepts and skills!
Our parents also love coming to school! The parent community is strong, and parents help our school succeed financially by supporting our annual giving campaign and auction and with their time and talents by volunteering in the classroom, participating in various committees and by being an active voice in the Westside Parent Organization.
