Admissions at Westside
The 2008-2009 School Year
Thank you for saying great things about Westside! Our admissions season has been amazing. At this point, we have over 108 applications - 23 for preschool, 25 for pre-kindergarten, 45 for kindergarten and 15 for first – fifth grade. This year, we’ve added something new! Jo Ann and David are doing parent interviews with every new family. It’s keeping them very busy, but it’s a great way to get to know every new family. Potential PS, PK and K students will visit the first two weeks of March. Admission decisions are made and invitations are mailed on March 20th, with contracts due back April 2nd. Stay tuned for the final results! And thank you for all your good words! It really makes a difference.

Staff Changes
It is with regret that I have accepted the resignation of Kevin Jones as third grade assistant. Medical reasons make it difficult for Kevin to finish the school year. I know you will join me in wishing Kevin the best.
Westside School is happy to announce that after the winter break, we will welcome Tara Migliore Potter to our staff as Kevin’s replacement. Tara has a degree from the University of Washington in Environmental Studies and has experience coordinating educational programs and service learning projects for the Northwest Environmental Education Council. We look forward to Tara helping in third grade and in our after school program.
