SPIRIT Auction Volunteers Hard at Work

By Carolyn Comick, Auction Chair

This year’s SPIRIT auction honors ‘our community – growing and learning together,’ a true celebration of the dedicated teachers, staff and families that make Westside School a special place for our children. Please mark your calendars for the 21st Annual Westside SPIRIT Auction, Saturday, March 20th at the Hall at Fauntleroy.
It just took one ask, a simple email to our families at the beginning of the year, that has turned into an impressive group of volunteers who are already hard at work making this year’s event memorable for us all. And this may be the first year that every classroom is represented by one of our chairpersons!

Please join me in acknowledging this year’s team of volunteers: Kit Cudahy, auction co-chair; Kate Petrich and Roshele Allison, Procurement; Tracy Sundberg, Database; Shannon Marsh, Thank You’s; Christine Smith, Movers and Set-Up; Molly Woodruff, Desserts; Kristin Mariani, Advertising; Peggy Nelsen, Graphics; Celesta Bjornson, Decorations; Janel Lardizabal, Raffle; Janet Beeby, Class Projects; Alison and Phil Wallace, Clean-Up; Susan Viscon, Bar; Jan Ellis, Catalog Editor; and Bear Silverstein, Fine Wines.

In addition to our chairpersons, we have heard from parents who are committed to making desserts and working on various committees. If you are interested in helping at this year’s auction and have not yet reached out, this is the time to do so by emailing auction chair Carolyn Comick @ ccomick@comcast.net, or contacting one of our chairpersons directly.

Admissions Deadline Approaching

Westside is having a busy admissions season! If you have any family or friends interested in Westside for next year, please let them know our last Open House is Saturday, January 9th from 1-3pm; they can also contact the school to sign up for one of our remaining parent tours.

Westside School has a sibling policy. The sibling of any currently enrolled student is given preference in the admissions process. Please stop by the office for an application. Remember, all application materials are due to the school by January 14th.

Happy Holidays from the Board of Trustees

Tonight we celebrate our school and the season with Westside Winterfest. We look forward to seeing old friends and watching the kids perform on stage under the direction of Cathy Chutich and their teachers. It’s also the first all-school event of the year and an opportunity to visually see just how much our community has grown! One of the greatest strengths of Westside School is our community – kids, parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, alumni. We’re still a small school, but growth requires us to work a little harder on community connections. Tonight, in addition to greeting the people you know, take a chance and introduce yourself to a couple of new faces. Community strength enriches the Westside experience.
